Online registration is preferred; registration and payment via Paypal (credit card or bank account) will be accepted through 8:00 p.m. on the day prior to the start of the tournament.


Registration on site is between 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on the date of the tournament.

Registration after 8:45 a.m. will result in a 1st round bye. Cash, credit card, and checks accepted.

Participants play every round, win or lose. Bye round can be requested to skip a particular round. See below for Bye Requests details.

Please bring chess board or purchase onsite from us when you arrive at discounted prices. We usually sell at much lower prices than at retail or online stores, because we buy in bulk.

4SS: K-1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8.
3SS: 9; 10; 11; 12.

Depending on attendance, sections may be combined (a minimum of 9 players are required to support a separate section). Players wishing to play in a higher section than their current grade level must indicate this on their registration. In the case of a combined section consisting of several grade levels, individual awards will still be made for each grade.

Grades K-8: 9:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m.; 1:00 p.m.; 2:45 p.m.

Grades 9-12: 9:30 a.m.; 11:45 a.m.; 2:15 p.m.

Award Ceremony follows completion of final round.

$25.00 if pre-registered online. $30.00 on the day of the tournament.

Trophies for top five places in each grade level K-8 and top three in grades 9-12. There will also be a trophy for the top kindergartner in the K-1 section. Players tied for trophies who lose on standard tie-break calculations will receive medals. Team trophies for the top two teams in sections K-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The top three scores for any team will count toward the trophy. Students from same team may play each other, if necessary.

One half-point bye allowed, except in the last round. Registration after 8:45 a.m. uses this bye for round one. We must be notified in advance of byes. Byes will be posted for pre-registrations on the web and on the wall charts after each round; correction requests are the responsibility of the player.

This tournament is open to all students through 12th grade. All participants must have USCF membership current for the duration of the tournament. Membership can be purchased at the tournament. For information on fees or to apply online, go to the USCF website.

Players to bring their own chess sets, clocks, and notation pads. Concessions/food and chess equipment will be available for purchase on site.
